I was assembling two computers at the same time for
different clients, after loading and activating and
installing customer software I realized I did not remember
which key tag goes on which machine. The information used
to be available in the registry but I cannot find it in XP.

You should be able to use AIDA32 Enterprise from
http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php or ViewKeyXP from
http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm to find the installed
Product Keys.
