I am trying to delete an item in my temporary "To Be
Written To CD" file but it wont delete so i cant write cds
as it corrupts them. Is there any wayI could override the
item and delete it when it says that the file cannot be
deleted as it is already being used or is write protected.
Please help!

James,

If you feel you need to post to more than one group, please do so in the
same message.

Try rebooting the computer then deleting the file, or use the following:

Open a Command Prompt window. Then open Task Manager (Start, Run and enter
TASKMGR.EXE). In Task Manager, locate the Explorer.exe process and
highlight it. Click End Process. Leave the Task Manager open. Go back to
the Command Prompt and type the following:

CD \Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\CD Burning

Then type DEL <filename> or DEL *.* (to delete all files in this folder).

Return to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to
restart the Windows Shell.
