Then after that, just update your virus scan, scan your

NO! You are NOT done, and that is horrid advice, to put it mildly, for
it _totally_ overlooks the vital steps of installing the Windows XP
patch that will prevent the problem, and _ignores_ the need for a firewall.
It's fine to be helpful to others, but, please, be sure that you
actually ARE being helpful. It's rather like a motto from my years in
the volunteer fire service: "When responding to a call for assistance,
first do no further harm."
