xp home old files recovery

my backup cd got distroyed after I loaded xp how can i
get my old files back

If you just upgraded, then all of your previously existing data files will
still be there. Do a search on the hard drive, you should find them.

I'm not sure what you mean about getting back to the old operating system.
If you upgraded, then you would have removed the ability to boot into the
old OS.
