My computer will not shut down

[DMR]

I am running Windows WP Professional and can not shut
down my computer. When I sellect "Turn Off" or "Restart"
nothing happens. There are no programs open that I can
tell. I searched Microsoft's website and found no
solution to my problem.

Any suggestions?

i had a similar problem but it i final found out it was my network card
conflicting with something, i changed it in the bios and now no probs but,
it doesnt meen your problem is the same, depending on what board you have in
your machine and also it doesnt say in windoows xp you have a conflict.
worth a check out though
