When my pc goes into scandisk, the scan is complete, then
it just sits until I restart.

Shouldn't it automatically go to the desktop without
my having to restart it?

XP doesn't use Scandisk, it uses Chckdsk. And no, you have to manually
close it. Don't have to restart though.......

There's no place on the screen for me to close it. It
wouldn't let me ESCAPE either.
