Uninvited picture on Desktop

Seeking advise.

On a Compaq - Laptop - Windows XP.
A small, unmovable, picture exist on the Desktop.
Regardless of the "appearance" setting.

History - unknown - a used computer.

Eliminating ALL the programs from the startup
(using msconfig) does not help.

Any advise?

Try Display> Desktop> Customize Desktop> Web and uncheck anything unknown
in the web items list. Default settings for this screen will show no items
checked.
