Microsoft Interactive Training

When I got my new compurter with WindowsXP preinstalledf it had a a
program called "Microsoft Interactive training"

A corrupted file(s) forced me to re-inmstall windows and that above
program no longer appears. Perhaps it is one of the progrmas that
need installing separately

I have asked thec support disk of the computer supplier and done
extensive research of the Internet and elsewhere on how to restore
"Microsoft Interactive training" without result.

Can anyone tell me on how I can re install "Microsift Interactive
training"

You're guessing in the right direction. The program is not a part of the
basic Windows installation. It is included as an extra program on some of
the OEM computers that have Windows XP preinstalled. Check your system
documentation or contact the OEM technical support for instructions on
getting this reinstalled.

Patrick, since the program is not a part of Windows it is something that
the OEM installed. I have searched the MS site for retail copies of the
software when this question has come up in the past. It is a special OEM
package and is not available as a separate purchase.

The computer manufacturer is *supposed* to give you copies of all software
that shipped with your system or at the very least a means to restore them.

You could:
- Call or contact support again. You might be a bit more lucky this time
and get a rep that can help you.

- Look in your system documentation for directions on how to restore the
extra bundled applications.

- Check all of the CDs that came with the computer. If you don't have one
marked specifically for the training course, look for a CD marked
"Applications."

- You might have to use Windows Explorer to examine all folders on the CDs.
The setup program for each application may be tucked away inside of
individual folders.

- Compaq, HP and possibly a few other PC manufacturers have been known to
place a hidden partition on the system's hard drive. Sometimes these
partitions hold the setup files (in addition to the copies on CDs or
instead of). May have to set Folder Options> View to show "hidden and
system folders and files."

- Visit the download area at the PC manufacturer's website for your
computer brand and model. You may find directions and/or downloads to help
you restore this item.
