Running XP Professional
When openning Task Manager, via CTR+ALT+DEL or right-
clicking the taskbar, the program will open for a few
seconds or less and then shut down. Regedit does the
same thing.
Anyone know what to do?

This could be a virus that can automatically shut down its vunrabilitys
(task managers end task and regedit to stop it from starting)
Try running a virus scanner with updated definitions and then clicking start
> run > and in the open box type
msconfig.
On the startup tab, un check anything you do not want to load or items you
do not recognise.
Leave items such as anything that says reg or registry.
