Hi
Don't know whether I have the right newsgroup here. Hope so.
Whilst cleaning the keys on my laptop, I have accidentally pressed something
that has caused my 'desktop' to become smaller than the monitor screen. I
have a 2/3 inch black area surrounding the 'desktop'.
I remember this happening before and I got out of it by pressing some button
or combination of buttons (one of the 'F' buttons rings a bell), but this
time I can't for the life of me work out which one/s it is.
Can someone enlighten me? Please.

Well mine is in between the windows and Ctrl key. Perhaps that's just on a

In order to conserve realestate and because there is often additional
functionality needed, most laptop computers have a Fn key that allows some
keys on the keyboard an additional action. Similar to how holding down
the Ctrl key causes the letter C to go from typing "c" to copying the
selected item to the clipboard, except that Fn key actions are controlled
by the computer, not the OS.

Didn't know what that key was caled but it is the one in the l-r between
Windows and ctrl keys which brings up pop up menus in lieu of right-clicking
the desktop. It should exist on all keyboards.
