Evrytime when I hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE to bring up the task
manager, it closes automatically within a couple of
seconds. I do not have timer to even switch tabs or
change/end any processes. Any help?

Open a Command Prompt window and enter the following:
COPY C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr.exe C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr1.exe
Then
C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr1.exe
Task manager should start. You can use this same technique to start Regedit
and MSCONFIG. RegEdit works when renamed to REGEDIT.COM, as well.

Andy,
See if this helps;
Usually it's caused by Klez or Yaha viruses. Typically Task Manager closes
as soon as it opens. So test for the following;
or
There are some other causes and it appears you have already tried the
solution(s).

Click Start, Run and enter CMD This will open a command prompt window.
Then type in the following commands:
COPY C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr.exe C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr1.exe
Then
C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr1.exe
Task Manager should open. Then update your anti-virus software and scan
your system. Additionally, Go to
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm, Line 257, Left column. This
small fix will look for and remove all currently known variants of the
Blaster worm, and offer to take you to the direct download link for the
Microsoft patch for this problem. The script will also disable, at least
temporarily, some of the virus's that can piggyback in with Blaster.
