How do I check to see if the security patch is already in
my system? I may have downloaded it during one of my
periodic updates?
If it is not, how do I know which to download, XP 32 Bit
or XP 64 Bit? Can someone out there help me? Thanks.....

D/L the 32-bit version. 64-bit computers are so expensive (in the
neighborhood of $15,000) that if you are not sure which you have - then you
have 32-bit.

The history file is called iuhist.xml located in C:\Program =
Files\WindowsUpdate\V4.=20
This is a hidden directory, please change your view

Nicholas:
This was also my question (further down the messages).
Issue for me is how do you know what patch it is in as the
numbers in the installed patches history are like Qnnnnnn
where nnnnnn is a number, nothing like MS03-026, i guess
that would be too easy !

Look in the "iuhist.xml" file for:
=20
<title>Security Update for Windows XP (823980)</title>=20
<installStatus value=3D"COMPLETE"
This would indicate that the
"Blaster Worm: Critical Security Patch for Windows XP"
was successfully installed.
