Had the Worm.... now my Yahoo Mail and other sites are REALLLYYYY SLLLLOOOW?

check your task manager.

press control alt delete once. then select processes.
look and see if there are any exe programs that are using
a lot of cpu usage (most of the numbers in the third
column should be low except the last one "system idle"
which should be high). see if there is something running
really high.

for me it was my anti virus program sucking up all my cpu
usage.

Thanks Izzy!

This is what happened when I checked my Task Manager:

Hmm...

under the Performance Tab... my CPU Usage is at 100%... is that
normal??? I don't remember ever really seeing it at a continuous
100%!?!?!?!

Even when I'm not doing anything.... simply "on the net" it's at
100%....


I'm stumped!

Now I closed down my Browser Window and my CPU usage is at 0%...... ok
now it's 2%... 4%... but NOT 100%..... now I'll open my Internet
Explorer and let's see what happens....

43%..... 38%... 50%....100%..... 2%...... okay.... looks okay....

now let me go to a page other than google.com...
let's try yahoo.com.... still fluctuating but okay....
now let me log in..... UH-0H!!! PROBLEM!!!

pretty constant at 100%... as I'm checking my yahoo mail.... as I
scroll down it's pretty choppy.... iexplore.exe is showing to be using
about 98 CPU under task manager.... something's not right.... wish it
would stop... like I said, it only chugs when I'm on the net.... not
only on yahoo.com but other sites as well... like ebay.com
