I have a single entry bookkeeping program on DOS. How do
I run it on windows xp? Is there another prorgam I can
use in it's place?

The only thing you can do is see if it works using the DOS prompt in XP.
Start>>Run>>cmd
XP doesnt included DOS as it is not built on DOS, it is built on NT.

Windows XP has both the command interpreter and a dos emulator.
All you can do is try running the program. Go start > run and in the open
field type:
command
and click ok.
Press alt + enter to bring the program full screen as there is less chance
of graphics problems.
When finished, type
exit
at the command prompt to return to windows.
Some applications, mainly games, will have problems with detecting cd-roms
and the ntfs file system. All you can do is try and hope for the best.
