I download loaded the block for the virus and how do I
know that it is working and how do I stop spam. Thanks

If it (the patch) is installed, that's all you can do.

Stopping spam is another whole issue -- start by getting a good spam
blocking software -- I use IHateSpam from Sunbelt.
