Recovery of password protected files

I recently had the c drive crash on my computer. I also
had a d drive which had my documents on it. I replaced
the c drive and reinstalled windows xp. Now I cannot
access the documents on the d drive. I can access the d
drive just not the documents in my documents. Any
suggestions?
