I'm having some problems with the messenger popups, etc.
and need to change some settings in the control panel, or
check in the device manager. I cannot access any of
these diagnostic files and folders. When I try to get
into services.msc to deactivate the messenger, for
exampl, I get this message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or
file. You may not have the appropriate permission to
access the item."
Can someone help me get things set up so that I can have
access to all the files? There is no network, just a
home pc running Windows XP.
