I had to format my drive and reinstall windows XP home.
This was due to a virus...I formatted the drive and have
reinstalled windows. I go to windows updates and it
tells me there is no updates advailable. I did manage to
udate internet explorer and office applications, but that
is all.... I need to update my messeneger it is version
4.7, and on my other computer I have version 5.0 How can
I do these updates when windows updates tells me that
there is no updates advailable. I know there is lots of
updates advailable, as I did lots to the same windows in
the past.
Whats up Microsoft?

Hi,

Disable any/all of the following installed on your system:

- firewall (even the native one)
- antivirus software
- popup stopper
- download manager

Go to the Control Panel/Internet Options, click on "languages" and make =
sure at least your default language is installed. Then check the Date & =
Time applet and make sure that the day/month/year are correct.

Add these sites to the list of trusted sites under Internet =
Options/security in the Control Panel:

http://Windowsupdate.microsoft.com
http://V4.Windowsupdate.microsoft.com
http://Download.Windowsupdate.com

Then retry Windows Update. If this doesn't help, try more =
