Dear Sirs,
I have kept my Updates, made it through Blaster and
following Good Worm. Had all my Updates in place before
August I guess it were!! But I have today gone back to
check for new Updates due to an Article read at
TechRepublic. There are 2 Updates here (August 2003,
Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
(822925)) & (Security Update for Microsoft Data Access
Components (823718)). They are at the Windows Update,
which I went to check due to the article read. Niether are
number Updates that I have, so I have found. In reading
about the Windows Update problem, I do not know if these
are bonified Microsoft Windows Updates or another step in
a criminal game playing agenda by the malicious code user.
I would prefer a personal contact, such as telephone. But
even though my product XP Pro is only a couple months old,
you give me no way of verifying these Updates as valid
now.. What options do I have. I ran these patches through
the MSDN which kicked up a no results window. Have not
downloaded these and now waiting for a response from
Microsoft to know a proper course.

Microsoft released three critical updates yesterday. =20
Access http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
and you can be assured they are legitimate.

You can verify this by going to the above web site and from
IE's toolbar select: Properties. The address URL shown should be:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
