Windows XP hanging on log off

Does anyone have this problem of windows hanging at log
off for 1/2 hour to 1 1/2 hours with the message windows
is know closing and the hard disk is busy for too long.
Every time I reboot I loose my computer for 1/2 to 1 1/2
hours. There are no error messages when it finally
reboots.
