Receiving WindowsXP Updates through a firewall

I've installed a software firewall (Sygate) and I don't
know if I'm letting my computer go out to get Windows
updates or if I'm blocking M.S. from updating my
WindowsXP. Who should I be letting in and out to do the
updates? A "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services"
keeps showing up, is that a safe connection? - Jim
