I have a HP Pavilion running XP Home and IE 6.
I want to change the default search engine to Google
and/or Alta Vista.
If I hit "Search" the Customize button only brins up a
full page search via HP's engine.

How do I get the options to change and prioitize searchs
and meta searches I've seen on other computers?

Open internet explorer and click search to show the search pane. Click
customise.
From the window that appears, you can select a search service for all
searches or specific tasks.

Go to www.toolbar.google.com and get their free toolbar. It installs in IE
and is always avaiable. What's more, it has a built-in popup ad blocker. Now
who wouldn't want that?
