When I click on " My Computer" the window opens but all
that I see is a searching light bulb. How can I get the
window to show the drives on the computer etc. Thanks.

Hi,
Start/run msconfig, go to the services tab and disable WMI (Windows Image
Acquisition). Click apply/ok and reboot - does this help?
