View Full Version : backing up system prior to patch

Hopefully it will be a simple task. I am requested to
back up my system before applying the patch...I don't
understand if this refers to backing up my computer as a
whole or just a portion...please, can someone help
me...thanks

Assuming you have disks for your applications and operating system, drivers,
etc. it means backing your data and anything else on your system that would
be irretreivably lost if something went wrong and you were forced to format
and start over.

A secondary backup is a really good idea in any event because Restore
often fails. Frequently recommended here is erunt.zip, a 575K
freeware utility. Saved me once, easy to use (although the
instructions are unnecessarily wordy).
