I am new to XP and for some reason my task bar became
double-height? I've tried to decrease it,no luck. Any
suggestions?

Make sure there is only one row (of double height). Then it can be sized =
to single height. If the sections are on multi rows (ie on top of one =
another rather than side by side) then the num of rows is the minimun =
height. Note I'm refering to sections not the height of sections when I =
say rows.

Right-click a blank area on the taskbar and select "Lock the Taskbar" if
that item is checked. Now grab the top edge of the taskbar and pull it
down.
