How can I arrange the programs listed under Start/Programs so that they
appear alphabetically, please?
I am running Windows XP SP1 in Classic View.
Many thanks, Reg

Right click anywhere on the menu and choose Sort By Name. Plus in =
classic mode start's properties there is a button to sort all menus.

Follow the advice in the 2 prior posts. However, some programs may still not
be in alpha-order. Those you will have to sort manually by L-clicking and
dragging them where you want.

If you want a permanent solution for your favorites and start menu
items, Kelly has a downloadable registry tweak at line 196, left (I
use it, works fine):
