I have this prob; I have a movie on a CDRW that I saved
then one day when my computer crashed then I got it fix
when I tried to copy the movie witch is ".avi" from my
CDRW it gave me this error...

"Cannot copy <filename>: Data error (cyclic redundancy
check)"

What should I do to fix this prob?

CRC errors are indicative of corrupt media - usually nothing you can do
about it, may be a symptom of a bad burn.

Don't know how well "CD Data Rescue V2" works but there's a trial version
here.

Try reading it in a friends drive and the burn it to new media?

As I stated earlier - CRC means the media is corrupt, doesn't matter what
you use to read it - it has nothing whatsoever to do with the drive.

I have a similar problem. I have an Access database on a
Win 98 machine. I copy it to a floppy and then try to
copy it from the floppy to my hard drive on my XP
machine. I get the same error, but I have an XP machine
at work and I can take that same floppy to work and it
copies fine. ANY SOLUTIONS?
