I have an HP laptop with XP on it and I want to change my
screen resolution to 800x600 pixels to better fit my games
and it is currently on 1400x1050 pixels. When I do switch
it to 800x600 my laptop screen gets a really small screen
in the middle of it with a large black border around it.
In other words it just makes the screen smaller. How can I
make the screen fit the whole laptop screen and get it to
go to 800x600? Thanks.

Unfortunately, this is how some laptop displays respond when changing the
resolution. Changing the size of the desktop resizes the desktop image
instead of the usual results of readjusting dimensions and filling the
screen. If there is a way to achieve the desired results, it would be
described in the owner's manual. You may also find options in Display>
Settings> Advanced. Or under an additional control panel installed by the
display drivers.

I cannot change my resolution and the graphics are messed
up. When I go to settings it wont allow me to change my
pixels.. nor my bit to higher than what it is set on. My
text is fine, but my graphics are bad.

Make sure you have the right video driver installed.
If you don't have it, go to your video card
manufacturer's website, and download the latest driver
for XP. That should help you out.
