antivurus resource usage optimization

Hi All!

I wonder weather any of you have a knowledge on memory
usage by different antivirus programs. Actually I look for
best combination of protection and resource lock.
My experience with symantec is a bit frustrating (both
corporate and retail) and I would prefer to know more
about others experience with other products before buying
them.
