Re-Formatting XP Upgrade

Hello,
I had the Windows automatic update selected, which one
of the latest updates has disabled my VPN function.Could
someone please tell me how to reformat an upgrade version
of windows XP on an OEM computer???? I have called MSN
support and repairing XP did not work.....
