Norton download problem

I recently updated to Norton Antivirus 2003. After I
download it to the desktop and try to install on computer
I receive error message "the instruction at 0x00b36323
referenced memory at 0x00167000, the memory could not be
written. I've tried everything I can think of to no
avail. Thanks for the help
