Security Update Patch 823718

I have Windows XP. On Thurs Aug 21, I installed two
Updates:

1) Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service
Pack 1 (822925)

2) Security Update for Microsoft Data
Access Components (823718).

Immediately afterward, my printer exhibited a new
problem.....there is a 30 second delay after each print
command before it actually starts printing. My printer
is a Lexmark Z52. What can I do to correct this?
