View Full Version : Add/Remove Program control panel applet doesn't function

When I double click on it, get brief hourglass icon, but nothing happens.
This happens with different user accounts (including admin priveleges) and
more than one hardware profile.
All other control panel applets seem to work okay, or at least start up
their respective apps.
Have recently had problems with HP multifunction device that would not
uninstall cleanly but other than that no major hardware or software changes.

Any thoughts?

thanks for any help,

Andrew

Running Windows XP Pro sp1, with all security updates, etc. installed.
I'm not afraid to look into the Registry if necessary, but would prefer not
to have to wipe out and reinstall everything.

Why not try System Restore to before you uninstalled the HP
multifunction device. These HP all-in-ones are nothing but trouble on
various operating systems. It's quite probably that something got hosed
on the HP's way out.
