to find my document made when using windows 98

i was previoulsy using windows 98.i upgraded from 98 to
windows xp professional but soon after i connected to
internet the new OS was restarting my pc with the message
that RPC service was terminated unexpectedly.i use home
pc.
i aslo not finding my documents and files i made when i
was using windows 98.plz tell me how i can find my
documents that i made when i was using windows 98.now how
can i find those documents using widows xp professional.

It's a new virus called blaster. Information:

You need the patch described here to protect against it:

Problem is, you needed to install the patch BEFORE you got infected to avoid
it.

As to your documents, did you make backups? Check the various profiles under
C:\Documents and Settings for any trace of them. There is a chance they were
overwritten if you stored them in a file on the desktop.
