error message installing Blaster Worm patch

when I went to the microsoft website I followed the
instructions to install the patch for Blaster worm but
got this error message when I tried to install it. I have
windows XP. Here's the message as it appeared. Any
advice? Thank you.

QFE INSTALLER ERROR:
WEUpdate cannot retrieve information needed for setup
from database.

Setup cannot continue.
