I have windows XP pro and my C drive is NTFS. It says that
i should be able to create a compredded (zipped) folder.
but the option does not apprear under the file menu.
Any ideas?

Have you consulted the Microsoft web site? It is an excellent source of 'how
to' information for Windows XP. To start you off, try this:
