My user name in the welcome screen indicates that I have
a unread email message. That POP account I temporarily
had in OLEXP along with Hotmail. I removed the POP
account from OLEXP, however in the welcome screen it
displays unread email for the POP account. How can I
remove that? How could I display other unread email in
the welcome screen?
Thanks,
Sam

Download and install TweakUI:
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP (TweakUI)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp
After installing, go to Start > Programs > PowerToys for Windows XP >
TweakUI. Expand "Logon" and uncheck "Show unread mail on Welcome =
screen".
Note: Unread message alerts may indicate you have unread messages not =
only
in Outlook Express, but Hotmail and/or MSN email accounts as =
well.
