How many versions of xp pro were created? In other

out later, if so, what is its label and when was that
release date (as close as u can, does not have to be

Currently the Windows XP "family" comprises a number of products
Windows XP Home Edition
Windows XP Professional
Windows XP Tablet PC Edition
Windows XP Media Center Edition
Windows XP 64-bit Edition Version 2003
Windows XP Embedded
Of these once Windows XP Service Pack 1 was released the retail channel
products for Windows XP Home and Professional were flushed a new product
that had Service Pack 1 already applied was introduced into the retail
channel.
There is however no way of telling from the exterior packaging if the
product you are purchasing for Windows XP Home or Professional is with or
without SP1 (it is marked on the disk surface). These pre patched products
stated to enter the retail channel around Oct/Nov 2002
Tablet and Media Center already included SP1 at launch and Window XP 64-bit
Edition is unlikely to concern you unless you rae running a $3300 HP
Workstation with an Itanium II processor.
