computer locks-up

I have a systemax 1700+ that I was having problems with
and I decided to wipe out the hard drive and reinstall
the mamufacturers operating system (win xp home editions)
now my computer keeps locking up and I dont know why? my
computer tells me everything is functioning properley?

Perhaps heat? Are all fans running? Other than that check all drivers for
latest level.

Also get all the updates from MS.
