My anti-virus software shows that MSBLAST.exe is in the system volume
information folder but it never finds it when I run a scan just under auto
protect. When I try to get into this folder I am denied access. Anyway to
get into this folder and remove this file. I already had the virus taken
care of once before in the last couple of days by my anti-virus software.
The software is AVG by grisoft. Thanks for the help.

Hi,
As long as you don't use that restore point, it is harmless there. To get
access to the restore folder, see this article:
HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP [Q308421]
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308421
Now, if it bothers you, you can use one of these methods to get rid of the
restore point. Please note that you cannot selectively remove restore points
or individual items within them.
1) Control Panel/System/SR tab, disable SR on all drives. Reboot and
reenable it. This removes all existing restore points.
2) Same place, but go to settings and decrease the amount of space alloted
to SR. Doing so will remove older restore points.
3) Start/run cleanmgr.exe, there is an option to remove all but the newest
restore point.
