I received this message in windows messenger:
..NET Messenger Service Staff says:
You are running a version of messenger that requires an
immediate security update. Please visit
http://messenger.msn.com/Help/Upgrades.aspx to complete
the update.
I can not find any info on this on Microsoft's web sites
to verify it is not a hoax/trap to download a virus.
I'm currenty running messenger version 4.7.0105. Is there
a security patch for it?

The URL is valid. Go for it! Messenger 6.0 is much nicer anyway.
