My question:
If the updates have already been downloaded but not
installed, and the machine is turned off at the time of
the scheduled install, then will updates automatically
install the next time the computer is booted up?
My problem:
I tried this on a machine. I set it up to automatically
download and install the updates itself.
The first thing that happends is a notification pops up
saying that the updates are ready would you like to
istall now. This is a nice option but is only given to
those who are in the admin group. Power users are never
shown when updates are ready.
Now that the updates have been downloaded, I scheduled an
automatic install 10 min later and proceeded to turn off
the machine. 30 min later I restarted the machine and
waited for it to automatically update itself. It did
not. Has anyone else tried this?
