Just spent 3 hrs downloading & installing subject updates
from Microsoft. Not being well versed in terminology, of
the 23 available I picked 18. During the process I noted
that I missed a line that read "Windows XP (15)".
1- Should I have just clicked on and used the 15?
2- Did I mess up my computer?
3- How do I determine which are needed?
4- Can a update be loaded twice and if yes, will it
create a problem.

I use my computer for e-mail, internet surfing, games and
Quicken to maintain a checking acct. No business is
transacted at any time.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can install all the updates instead of selecting specific ones. They
won't harm your PC.
