I am trying to determine if I have 32 bit or 64 bit
Windows XP. How do I determine which I have?

Thanks,

Kelly

If you have XP Home edition then you definitely have 32-bit, as it's only
available as 32-bit.

If you have XP Professional edition, then if you need to ask the question,
you've got 32-bit. The reason for this is that the 64-bit version will only
run on a very limitied set of high-end, very expensive processors. Any
standard Pentium, Athlon etc. is 32-bit.

If you don't say what you mean,
Then how can you ever mean what you say?

Hi Kelly,

You have the 32 bit version. To verify this, right-click on "My =
Computer" and select 'Properties' from the context menu. If you don't =
see 64 bit then you don't have it (very few people have the 64 bit =
version).

Go to Control Panel > System>"General" Tab.

You will find the Windows version there, and unless it specifically states
64-bit, you have 32-bit.

Hope this Helps,
