I had a similar problem. I could download a few things,
but most did not work.Tried everything from removing
firewalls to reinstall. Even had several sessions on the
phone with an MS level 2 tech. Finally, discovered by
accident that I had a bad NIC (ethernet card). Twenty
bucks later, installed a replacement, and everything was
fine
