I have my user profile and my desk top has quite a few
short cuts on that my wife would like, question is how do
I transfer some of my short cuts to her user profile desk
top

You have to log in as an administrator. At that point, using My Computer, go
into C:\Documents & Settings and just copy files over -- it will be obvious
once you get that far.
If you aren't logged in as an administrator, you will only be able to see
your own profile.

In addition to Jim's advice, you can open Windows Explorer to Documents and
Settings\<your username>\Desktop and move the shortcuts to Documents and
Settings\All Users\Desktop That will make the shortcuts show up for all
users on the machine.
