Sony Vaio Warning

Hi all,
I'm currently getting the error at bootup:
"Warning! Hard Drive Failure Imminent. Press F1 to continue."
I do so, and everything's fine.
So I backed up my data and did a total recovery with the factory CDs but
still get the error.
Also, I tried swapping HDs and get the warning with the new HD.

Sony Vaio RX550, Win XP home edition.

Any ideas?

Sounds to me like the software written into the Hard disk has concluded
tha the hard disk is about to fail.

Backing up and restoring isn't necessarily going to fix what may well be
a hardware problem.

Contact Sony and ask advice. You may need to buy (or get under
warranty) a new hard disk.

Contact Sony Vaio. If this happened soon after your purchase, the unit ought
to have never been shipped. But sometimes stuff doesn't show up during the
rigorous testing (and I do mean rigorous!).
