View Full Version : Do I have to have a password?

I just set up "BackUp My PC" to do a back up every Monday morning, using the
Windows Task Scheduler and it didn't run, it told me that it failed because
the password was incorrect. I don't even use a password, I live alone and
I'm the only one using this computer so I don't want a password, do I still
need to enter one in order to make the Task Scheduler work?
Thanks.

In case nobody else replies, the answer as per my understanding is: 'Yes',
you do need to use a password to use 'Task Scheduler'

Yes it would seem you do. I ran into the same thing trying to schedule my
anti-virus to run. It seems task scheduler can not use "no password" You
will have to set one for your account, then give it to task scheduler.

That's odd, my Norton Antivirus runs every Friday night at 8:00PM and it's
using the Windows Task Scheduler with no password! Thanks for your
suggestion!
