Fairly new to XP, please bare with me....using a cd-rw i
saved a project for my job...came home...opened some of
the files...made changes and clicked the 'save'
icon...got this message:
The file "E:\COMMAND BRIEF OF CEREMONY PLAN.wps" is
marked read-only.
Save the file with another file name or to another
location.

then... clicked to 'save as' selecting the same file
name...got the following message:
<file name>.wps
You do not have permission to save in this directory.
See administrator to obtain permission.

I get the same or similar message with other types of
files (e.g. Notepad *.txt documents) on the disk.

I know I had a similar problem once with 98 but I'm not
finding what I need to be able to fix it. (IOW...I'm
having a major brain fart)

Is it something in the set up BEFORE I save to the disk
that I'm missing? OR is it something I have to do to
each file after each change?

This is a HUGE project at work and I need to make some
changes before the final draft is due in a couple of
days....I would appreciate any speedy assistance you
would be willing to provide.

Thanks a bunch ahead of time :)
Angela
