Sudden Shutdown

I have a computer running xp pro. My computer will
suddenly shut off without notice. It makes a loud beep
and then I'm done. It will reboot fine and run. It has
happened about 4 times in the last two months. Is this a
hardware or software issue?

System Properties (via control panel or right click my computer)
Advanced tab >> Startup and Recovery >> Settings
uncheck "Automatically restart" >> OK >> Apply

This will allow you to see the BSOD and hopefully give you more info next
time it happens.

This action could come from something over heating. Check all of
your fans in the box to see if they are running OK and you might
leave the side off the case to see if this will stop the
rebooting.
